In order to control access or data entry authorization, oracle EBS provides multi-layer security that can be implemented in order to restrict access of viewing or entering data by certain users in certain operating units and inventory organization.

This control can be implemented as follows:

  1. Setting MO: Operating unit profile at the responsibility level.
    System administrator>Profile>System profile>MO:Operating unit
  2. Assigning the user the appropriate responsibility only.
    System administrator>Security>User>Define>responsibilities region
  3. Using organization access function in Oracle EBS to give specific user the access to specific application and organizations only
    Oracle inventory>Setup>Organizations>Organization access
  4. Using menu exclusions to exclude functions and menus that user should not be allowed to access.
    System administrator>Responsibility>Define>Exclusions
  5. Putting an end date to the user and/or responsibility assigned to the user to restrict his access.
    System administrator>Security>User>Define>responsibilities region>To date
    System administrator>Security>User>Define>Active to date

There are numerous other controls that can be applied but scope of this post has been limited to granting users the access to view or enter information for a specific inventory organization in a specific operating uni and a specific business transaction.
